N8 Route (Bloem to Ladybrand)...
Taking the eastern direction from Bloemfontein to Ladybrand one is fascinated by the beautiful rural towns and friendly people. Along the way 45km from Bloemfontein you will arrive at the Industrial Area of Botshabelo where you can also visit the FDC office and information about all factories in a nutshell. One can also take a visit to the Botshabelo Community Radio Station and have a chat on air with local people.
12km from Botshabelo, arrive at Thaba Nchu which is well known for its legendary Chief Albert Moroka, historical buildings and the Moroka tribal kraal "kgotla ya Barolong" and Morolong the place of thechief. Thaba Nchu is also a home of a luxury casino and hotel. Four hundred meters from the tribal kraar, the gambling enthusiasts can also try their luck at Naledi Sun and Casino. Cultural performances are daily organized at Mmabana cultural centre.
Grab your light breakfast at Mmabana cultural centre and from here you will travel via Tweespruit and pass the Roman Catholic Church, the home of the late artitst Father Claerhout and his paintings and sculptures. Around midday, you can have the most delicious lunch in one of the best restaurants in Ladybrand.
In the afternoon take a visit to the most protected rock paintings of Tandjiesberg, thereafter visit the sacred site of St Augustine Mission, the burial site of Anna Mantsopa. Our friendly tour site (one of the missionary priest) will tell you the stories of the St Augustine and the history of Mantsopa and her relationship with St Augustine. That will be the end of the tour and revert back to Bloemfontein still on the N8 route.
