Mangaung Cultural Route...

Mangaung township route offers more than other typical South African townhips have. This township possesses a rich history dating back to the colonial era, liberation struggle and post aprartheid developments. Mangaung cultural route was established to promote the rich diversity of the previously disadvantaged communities above all to create SMME opportunities and jobs to local communities.

On our visit to Mangaung Township a well conversant tour guide from the city will take you past the Weslyen church, Waaihoek, the early township settlement before forced removals.

The place is believed to be the founding venue of the ANC, the giant leader of the current government. Within few metres the tour immediately goes past Masenkeng stadium, meeting place. On the vicinity is cape stands and Batho location. From here visitors are taken to Maphikela House (ANC House). This belongs to one of the founder members of the ANC. In the neighbourhood of Maphikela House and around Batho the streets are named after ANC founder members. Visit the Youth Monument and finally the tour ends at a local club / restaurant for meals.
