Motheo District Municipality Sports Extravaganza and the Launch of the District Committee
Details for the sports extravaganza are as follows:
Date: 10th April 2010 (Saturday)
Time: 09h00 – 18h00
Venue: Bobbies Park – SAPS Sports Ground Fichardt Park
These games will feature employees from Mantsopa, Naledi, Mangaung and Motheo municipalities participating in soccer, netball and pool as part of complementing the South African Municipal Sports & Recreation Association’s Provincial Programme of Action of ensuring that there are functional municipal sport clubs in all five districts of our province.

Establishment of Motheo District Communication Forum
The Motheo District Municipality has established its District Communication Forum (DCF) that constitutes of all communicators from the three local municipalities that fall within its boundaries, namely Mangaung, Mantsopa and Naledi, as well as representatives from GCIS and SALGA. The Forum was established on 29 January 2008 and serves as a strategic co-ordination point for government communicators in the district. Its mandate includes the assessment of the communication environment, the public mood and the media agenda. Amongst the DCFs priorities is building strong relations with the media in order to ensure balanced reporting on municipal activities.
